During the tour you will learn about the oldest exhibits, unique and valuable discoveries: treasures of coins and jewelry, tiles and plates found in the Old Town of Kaunas, the oldest sculpture in Lithuania, „The Žygaičiai Lion“, extremely rare books. You will hear about the oldest and most valuable Gothic madonnas, see interiors, clothing attributes, artwork, tapestries and a rich gallery of sculptural, painted, carved portraits. All of the works tell incredible stories about the emergence of personalities or exhibits. How could P. Smuglevich’s painting travel to Paris? Why did the two artists find themselves in Siberia? What was the purpose of the luxurious 1679 mirror? Why did the deer horns landed in the Zapyškis Church? These and many other stories will be revealed in an exhibition.
