The exhibition "Learn and Educate", dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of Vladas Putvinskis-Pūtvis.

The exhibition features the latest paintings by architect Stasys Pūtvis, surveys the memorial objects he has designed and implemented, as well as presents his art installation "Oak and Stone", which was specially created for the centenary of the Lithuanian Riflemen's Union.

S. Pūtvis graduated from the Vilnius Engineering Construction Institute with a degree in architecture in 1979 and has worked for many years in various design fields. One of such areas was the regeneration of military cemeteries, the design and protection of monuments. Painting entered his life at the age of maturity, although a strong attraction to this art form was noticed in his childhood. Little by little, interest in painting developed into self-expression. He studied drawing, was engaged in colour research and composition, but focused in the main on subjects that are most important in architecture, therefore V. Pūtvis considers himself a self-taught painter. For him, the most essential thing in painting is the process, the opportunity to express oneself through motifs, colours and strokes. Each work is being reconsidered for a long time until it is brought to perfection.

V. Pūtvis dedicates this exhibition to his great-grandfather Vladas Putvinskis and artist Antanas Žmuidzinavičius.

The exhibition is open: 28 12 2023 – 18 02 2024
