"THE YOUTH PLATFORM": GODA LUKAITĖ'S EXHIBITION "EVERLASTING FOREST"

At Kaunas Picture Gallery (K. Donelaičio g. 16, Kaunas), we continue the exhibition cycle “The Youth Platform” and present Goda Lukaitė‘s exhibition "Everlasting Forest".

Viewers in the exhibition are offered a light and landscape installation exploring the memory of the forest, its transformation, and a fragile relationship between a cyclical character of the natural world and traces left by humans.

Forest here is perceived not as a static landscape, but as a living, constantly changing organism. The installation consists of works created on layers of plastic. They combine such technologies as painting, engraving, and lighting. As the lighting changes, the image does not remain the same – some layers emerge, others recede, as if the forest itself were breathing and constantly altering its state.

Everlasting Forest manifests not only an environmental stress or the traces left by humans, but also memory, the flow of time, and a fragile relationship between humans and nature. It is a forest that is constantly degenerating, yet never completely disappears.

Goda Lukaitė is a representative of visual arts working in the fields of painting, installation, site-specific art, and experimental media. Themes of nature, landscape, and human psychology play a significant role in her work.
