On Friday, 21st of February at 4 p.m. we invite you to a concert "From Legends, Songs and Stories…" of pianists Kaja Kašubaitė and Klėja Kašubaitė. The concert is dedicated to the 150th anniversary of M. K. Čiurlionis.
The concert will feature works of M. K. Čiurlionis, B. Dvarionas, V. Bartulis, G. Kuprevičius, A. Remesa and F. Liszt for piano solo and four hands.
Sisters Klėja Kašubaitė (fourteen years old) and Kaja Kašubaitė (sixteen years old) are the youngest Lithuanians to debut at the Berlin Philharmonic in December 2023, the Berlin Konzerthaus in May 2024, and Carnegie Hall in New York in December 2024. Since 2022, they have been living in Berlin, Germany, where they attend the International Metropolitan School and study as the young students at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK) / Julius Stern Institute with Prof. Markus Groh and Prof. Sabine Simon, while also studying remotely at the ten-year Balys Dvarionas Music School in Vilnius. In 2023, they acquired a scholarship from the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation "LIVE MUSIC NOW" for a period of five years.
The young pianists have already gained valuable concert experience and have won competitions in the solo and piano duet categories in many countries, which include France, Italy, Austria, Germany, Costa Rica, Spain, Great Britain, USA, Indonesia, Czech Republic, United Arab Emirates, Switzerland, Belgium, Turkey, Malta, Croatia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Poland, Estonia, Latvia, etc. Their list of achievements includes 16 GRAND PRIX and 75 first places in piano SOLO category and also 12 GRAND PRIX and 26 first places in the PIANO DUET category. As soloists, they have performed with six symphony and chamber orchestras and have participated in prestigious international music festivals.
