On Friday, 23 October, at 5 pm, the opening of Aistė Bugailiškytė’s painting exhibition "They" will take place at the V. K. Jonynas Gallery (Turistų St. 9, Druskininkai).

In the exhibition “They”, painter Aistė Bugailiškytė makes the female figure the central subject of storytelling and self-reflection. In her paintings, graceful, dreamy and romantic women inhabit theatrical interiors filled with details and rich colours. The woman is not merely part of the composition; she becomes a space in her own right, revealing emotions, memories, desires and inner experiences. The narrative quality of the paintings invites viewers to engage with these stories, recognize their own experiences in them, and enter a world shaped by imagination.

Aistė Bugailiškytė was born in Vilnius in 1981. In 2005, she graduated in painting from the Vilnius Academy of Arts, where she studied at Kostas Dereškevičius, Arvydas Šaltenis and Algimantas Jonas Kuras’s classes. Since 2004, she has been actively participating in exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad, presenting solo exhibitions and taking part in group exhibitions, plein-air painting events and artist residencies in Lithuania, Denmark and India. She is the initiator of the painters’ group GISA and presented her work at the “ArtVilnius” contemporary art fair in 2022. Her works are held in private collections in Lithuania and abroad.

This is a public event; filming and photography may take place. By participating in the event, you agree to appear in event photos and videos, and you are informed that these photos and videos may be published publicly.

The exhibition is open: 23 10 2026 – 02 12 2027
