The exhibition  “Punk Is Not Dead“ by Tadas Medelis.

Tadas Medelis (1974-2023) is an artist, creator, representing the Punk lifestyle, who lived and worked in London for 10 years. He took part in several exhibitions in London, Manchester and Kaunas. The artist was mostly inspired by the everyday, social surrounding with specific spaces: London's parks, nature, old cemeteries, hipsters‘ districts, markets, street beggars, shabby pubs and free punk rock concerts in Camden Town. The artist values independence from social norms, the vibrancy of London, the urban environment and street art.

One of the most important features of Tadas Medelis' work is freedom, the spirit of a rebellious man. His work is dominated by bright lines, contrasts and expressive brush strokes. The themes of the paintings vary from cityscapes to human body. Characterised by witty details, provocativeness and irony, combining the banality of everyday life with deeper, philosophical existential meanings. The artist resisted dogmas and institutionalised norms. Tadas‘ art is open, sincere and with a distinct idea of freedom that defies any convention or societal expectation. Through his work, Tadas invites people to create a dialogue with themselves, their inner principles and to express themselves without limitations.

The exhibition works: 05 06 2025 – 05 07
