The tour “Archaics” focuses on ancient artefacts that have remained unchanged for centuries – items that surprise with both the complexity of forms and techniques and decor elements illustrating the simplicity of prehistoric times. A special code of this exhibit is a dot and a dash – simple starting points from which the most ancient symbols and signs such as a rhombus, a cross, a grass-snake have originated. As you walk around, we will invite you to reflect on the functions of ritual and household objects made by a peasant in the 18th – 20th centuries, to grasp the interconnection between the creation techniques, ornamental patterns, and the heritage of other ancient cultures. You will certainly feel the closeness of the worldviews of an ancient man and a contemporary society.
